Introduction
Bharathiya Vikas Trust founded by Late Sri T A Pai has completed more than 4 decades of useful service to the society. The Trust was registered in 1978 and commenced its activities from May 1981. Sri T A Pai conceived many ideas but did not live to see its implementation. He died on May 29, 1981. These 40 years BVT has experimented many of his ideas and implemented them on a pilot basis.
Sri T A Pai had supported the concept of Renewable Energy. As a Union Minister, he used his good offices to promote and propagate the use of Bio-Gas as early as in 1973. In pursuance of this, during last one decade BVT has made efforts to propagate the use of Solar Energy as Renewable Energy all around the country. Today, Solar Energy has become a most important energy solution and Govt. of India has initiated National Mission.
Vision:
The main mission of BVT is to bring about tangible change in the rural life by focusing management development in the areas like agriculture, animal husbandry, access to basic energy, education, self employment, research and development in rural areas
Providing self employment opportunities for youth towards the utilization of vast human resources to bring about Socio–Eco change in rural areas is the main concern. Harnessing local resources, development of skills, motivation and training to improve the quality of life is provided on a continuous basis to the rural community.
Objectives:
- To promote education and training to bring about socio-economic change in Rural India.
- To encourage authors and publishers in furthering the education and training in relation to socio-economic changes in India.
- To participate in rural development programs in India as prescribed by the Government of India under Section 35CC of the Income Tax Act 1961 as are found to be charitable and not involving / carrying on of any activity for profit
- To grant lump sum grants or recurring grants in furtherance of the above objects.
- The Trust shall mainly engaged in to carry out and/or associate itself solely or in association with other group/groups for carrying out rural development programs as approved by the prescribed authorities under the Income Tax Act.
- To take up scientific research and rural development and application of science and technology in dairy, poultry, horticulture, sericulture and apiculture, grass and fodder cultivation, breeding of milching animals and cottage / mini / small scale / medium scale industries, any suitable energy resources, water conservation and technology, fisheries, service industries.
